Team: Bridge Engineering

Know-How

Stephan Langer (Dipl.-Ing.) and his team have many years of experience and the necessary engineering know-how in bridge construction to fulfill any task from project launch, well beyond the structures’ handover and official opening for traffic.

Project Management

The comprehensive project management of the bridge construction engineers ensures reliable, economical and on-target completion of the sophisticated structures – from technical processing, through fabrication and installation, as well as corrosion protection, right down to complex finishing trades and special technical solutions.

Creativity in Every Phase

In every new project, we are charged with the task of catering to the customer’s interests while at the same time complying with all technical and economic requirements. The combination of knowledge and experience, along with innovative drive in developing new solutions and special proposals enables us to turn our customers’ requirements into reality, in joint dialog, from the design stage, all the way to project completion and in the maintenance phase of the buildings. We are there to listen to you – in any project phase.

Product Categories

  • Cable-stayed bridges enable the bridging of the largest span widths and at the same time allow for filigree construction

  • Large viaducts lead motorways or bypasses over what are often very low valleys and topographical challenges

  • Tied arch bridges can be used to elegantly bridge obstacles such as rivers or railway lines

  • A form of construction in railway and road bridge construction that is always up-to-date

  • Smaller to medium-sized spans can be economically and quickly achieved with prefabricated composite girders (PCG)

  • Where the passage of vessels needs to be allowed through occasionally, moveable, i.e. vertical pivot, bridges are deployed

  • Waterways and canals are also traffic routes and occasionally intersect with other traffic routes as bridges

  • Pedestrian bridges in particular are often architecturally designed and integrated into the landscape with an appealing design

  • Composite bridges form the symbiosis of the building materials steel and concrete to an extremely efficient form of construction – especially in large bridge construction

  • Bridges completely made of steel, featuring lightweight design, a high level of prefabrication and thus extremely short construction times, are an outstanding choice, especially wherever there are special requirements in terms of design and deadlines

Professionalism and Creativity in the Development of Technical Solutions

High strength, combined with lower weight, good malleability and weldability, as well as sustainability, are arguments in favor of steel bridges.

Viaducts

Short construction times, low traffic disruptions and a long service life.

Whether it be classical beams, filigree tied arches or aesthetic cable-stayed bridges, in all areas of bridge construction, a steel or steel composite bridge fulfills the needs of every client. Short construction times, low traffic disruptions and a long service life are but a few of the selling points for using steel as a building material.

Ganslandsiepen Flandersbach

Semi-integral composite viaduct

In addition to the pillar struts, a total of 24 superstructure sections with lengths of up to 36 m and weights of up to 100 tons had to be manufactured, delivered and assembled.

Railway Bridges

The highest manufacturing accuracy, unrestricted quality control and the greatest possible continuous load strength.

100 years old and still going strong. No other building material besides steel can boast such a successful track record. The special demands placed on rail traffic require the highest manufacturing accuracy, unrestricted quality control and the greatest possible continuous load strength.

Pedestrian and Bike Bridges

Floating airiness in virtually unlimited design and color options.

No other material is so closely associated with footbridges and bike path bridges as steel. The virtually unlimited possibilities in shape and color, the floating lightness of the filigree constructions turn each building into an architectural highlight.

Steel Cable Bridge in Sassnitz

Steel cable bridge with steel box girder

Steel cable bridge with steel box girders as circular ring girders and a ramp bridge as double-girder steel composite slab beam, stair tower in steel construction.

Waterway Bridges

A special challenge in light of vessel traffic and water masses.

Special tasks require special solutions. No other material can guarantee the reliability and control options the way steel can. Its high strength properties guarantee safety and elegance despite heavy traffic loads.
